What is Okie Apologetics?

Growing up in the small town of Cyril, Oklahoma, was quite an experience. Life is different in a small town. There isn’t much to do, so we made our own fun. Those experiences, with the best friends a guy could ask for, shaped me into the person I am today.

When my world came crashing down in 2014, it was those experiences that grounded me. They helped me reconcile my belief in Christianity that was floundering in an ocean of doubt. Okie Apologetics exists because in my own journey for truth I found that Christianity wasn’t what I thought it was, it was more beautiful than I could ever imagine.

Using stories from my upbringing, Okie Apologetics attempts to merge the world of academia with small-town philosophy. Defending Christianity doesn’t belong in a stuffy classroom. It belongs on lunch breaks with co-workers, out on the lake with friends, and on back porches with your family. Those conversations are the true apologetic mission of the church, and sometimes it even has a Southern drawl.

A water tower labeled 'CYRIL' above a single-story brick school building with a flagpole and an American flag outside, set against a backdrop of leafless trees in a sunset or sunrise.
